Support for icky hormones, magic berry juice, and so much free stuff: April edition

This month was particularly exciting in the package delivery world because not just one Young Living box showed up on my doorstep, two did.

O, happy day, indeed!

The first box was half free. The second box was entirely free. Literally entirely free, as in I paid for shipping. Just shipping and nothing else. Goodness, I love being on the rewards program. If ya’ll haven’t hopped on this train yet, you’re missing out on a lot of excitement when the mail man drives by your house and doesn’t stop to deliver a giant package of essential oils. It is genuinely the most exciting delivery of the month with the exception of our box from Thrive market, but that’s food which is pretty much an unbeatable delivery. Still, Young Living just about beats it. Do you want to see all my free goodies? Here’s the picture–I didn’t pay a penny for any one of these products. Retail value: $440.40, and that’s a true story. Also, it’s not like what Kohls does where they say a t-shirt retails at $70 but they sell it for $6 and you feel like you’re getting a great price when really you’re being tricked; you would actually pay $440.40 for these products. Do you see why you’re missing out if you’re not yet part of this fabulous program?

There’s a lot more than these goodies, too, but I’ll start with my person favorite: the magic berry juice. Formally, this Chinese goji berry-based drink is called Ningxia Red, but it does so much I have affectionately started referring to it as the magic berry juice because it can do so many amazing things that juice isn’t supposed to do.

First and foremost, it’s an immune booster. We always keep it in our house and start guzzling it when we feel the first inkling of sickness; my husband drinks it, I drink it, and my son gets it through nursing. It has amazing antioxidant support, and I’ll add this cheesy graphic I found on Pinterest (here’s the website to back up the facts) to help you understand what I mean when I say “amazing antioxidant support.” All the equivalents in this picture are the antioxidant equivalents–for example, 1oz of Ningxia Red (the amount pictured in the cup above) has the same amount of antioxidants as 100 oranges. Can you imagine how much it would cost to buy 100 oranges or 55lbs of almonds? Ningxia Red costs a little over $1 an ounce.

Antioxidants may not sound like much, but they protect the body from damage caused by free radicals (unstable molecules that can lead to aging and disease, come from cigarette smoke, the sun, car exhaust etc) by interacting safely with them to stop the chain reaction that happens before important healthy molecules are damaged. Antioxidants are important.

It also boosts sleep and energy, which is possible because Ningxia Red helps support your body to do what it needs to do, and this means both sleeping and functioning with high energy levels. I have friends whose monthly cycles are completely out of whack and Ningxia Red has alleviated this altogether and there are studies that have shown Ningxia Red can improve eye sight and replenish key nutrients. Don’t believe me? Do the research yourself! It’s pretty amazing–this drink seriously is a magic berry juice.

Fun fact: Thieves oil is named after the thieves during the Black Plague in the 16th century who used to raid and loot the houses of all the dying people but miraculously never got sick due to the “plant oils” (essential oils!) they would rub on their bodies before they looted houses. The king demanded to know how the thieves avoided contracting the highly contagious plague and the recipe given can still be found in the Royal English Archives to this day. Young Living formulated their Thieves oil based on research conducted on the aforementioned four thieves. You can read the whole story here.

On a side note, while I’m focusing on writing this blog post to educate all you mamas on how you can make better choices for your families, my son is in the kitchen reminding me why staying home with him never fails to disappoint.

But back to the Thieves. Pictured above is the household cleaner which literally replaces every cleaner in your home (glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, kitchen cleaner, stain remover etc) so yay for less clutter, Thieves dish soap, and Thieves laundry detergent. Did you know two of the most toxic chemicals in your house are found in your dish soap and in your fabric softener? As in it goes on the dishes you eat your food off of and onto the clothes you wear against your skin and that your kids wear against their very sensitive skin.

I started using essential oils a year ago to go chemical free but I’m not realized how toxic all the chemicals I had in my house are, and it’s pretty scary! Getting rid of that crap is urgent, people. Not to mention the Thieves products are far more effective than the cleaners I used to use.

Agilease is not a new product to us, but it’s one we’ve started using regularly because we’ve seen the results. My husband has injured his ankles and knees countless times due to playing football in high school, his fighting days, and now the Marine Corps. He’s never fully let his joints heal and as a result they’re in constant pain–he used to come home daily and comment that he could hardly walk because his ankles or knees hurt so terribly. Agilease is a supplement formulated for athletes and elderly people to support healthy joint and muscle function, and just about two weeks after my husband started using this regularly the pain all but went away. Now he PTs, runs, and goes about his daily activities pain free.

Honestly, the results blew even me away, and I am a die hard oiler.

After how successful Lime has shown to be at our poker nights (definitely an oil that the men love in their drinks!) I needed to stock up a little. I have two extra bottles now to either get us through the next poker night or to bribe the doubtful husband with when his wife wants her oils and the husband thinks they’re a hippie fad. While he might not be concerned about the health benefits, the taste will get him. Yes, Karina, I will bribe Tyler with a free bottle of this.

Tangerine is not only delicious and refreshing, but it can also promote calm and help with anxiety and nervousness. It’s spring cleaning time, and we could all use some help with calm and anxiety before tackling the deep cleaning that hasn’t been done since last spring. You’re welcome for this one.

I’ve been wanting to try this skin care line since it was offered as a free promotion for Mother’s Day last year but I hadn’t jumped on the rewards program train at that point so I didn’t get it. The testimonies of what it’s done for people’s skin are incredible, and my oily combination skin can really use all the help it can get. I just opened my box so I haven’t tried the products yet, but the light moisturizer will be perfect for the hot summer months coming up and I can’t wait to see what this does for my skin!

Oh yes, and I got the entire line for free by cashing in my rewards points. I get 20% back on every single rewards program purchase that I make and it adds up quickly–it took me just two months to save up the points to get this whole skin care line, plus the two bottles of Ningxia Red, plus the two bottles of lime for literally completely free. I didn’t pay a cent.

And here are the other oils that came in my order. Dragon Time, Tea Tree, and Grow were all free (with the rewards program, of course. How could you not want to be on this program by now??) and I’ve only ever tried Tea Tree so I’m excited for two new oils.

Peace and Calming is an oil I talk about frequently–it’s one of the most popular Young Living blends and we use it for sleeping, those pesky coughs, and really all things calming. Baby is having a meltdown? Peace and Calming. Husband can’t sleep? Peace and Calming. Mama is about to pull her hair out? Peace and Calming. This oil was out of stock from when I started with Young Living to December when they finally brought it back. Now I order a bottle every month because I cannot run out of this oil–I literally use it multiple times every single day.

My first experience with Tea Tree oil was buying it from Bath and Body Works to help with acne without drying out my skin. I had no idea it was an essential oil, I had simply read somewhere that it could help and I was willing to try anything (and it did help). The sweet lady who introduced me to essential oils was at my house and noticed my Bath and Body Works tea tree oil and mentioned that I had the same oil in my beginner’s oil kit from Young Living and I should try it because it would be so much more powerful. I kinda laughed at her because at that point I didn’t know much about the quality of oils but my goodness was she ever right. Now I use Tea Tree oil on all things skin. Also free this month.

R.C. is one of my favorite oils of all time. I also talk about this one a lot because it was the oil that made me a true believer when last spring I had been struggling with a cough for awhile and one morning it got so bad I finally gave up and decided to try the oils (which were my last resort back then, not my go-to) and as soon as this oil touched my chest I didn’t cough once more. Amazing.

Dragon Time is an expensive oil (free this month too!) that I’ve never tried before this month because it’s… expensive. Very aptly named, this oil is for those times you want to breathe fire on your husband and melt his face off because you can’t stand to look at his annoying self any longer. Also read: for those times you’re pregnant or it’s that time of the month. This oil is for hormonal support and perfect for postpartum ickiness. I have so many friends who have just had babies and feel completely out of whack–you need this oil! Men, you will not regret your wife getting this oil.

Finally, the last free oil that came is part of Young Living’s “Oola” line (for living a balanced life) and it’s called Grow. Let me be real with you guys, an oil to help me grow seems kinda weird and I’m pretty skeptical about how an oil can help me grow, but all the times I’ve ever been skeptical about Young Living products, I’ve always been proved wrong. I’ve heard from pretty amazing stories about people using this oil so we’ll see about this.

As I have the last two months, I ordered the Slique nutrition line for the Slique in 60 challenge my husband is currently half way through. There’s delicious snack bars, essential oil based supplements, tea, shakes, etc. Everything tastes so yummy and I love the products–review on the whole kit and challenge coming next month.

There’s still more than half the month left for you to get all the same free products I did. The rewards program is open to anyone and everyone, anytime. You can start whenever and cancel whenever, and there’s absolutely no reason why this program wouldn’t benefit you.

I’m all about saving money and when I can get items at the wholesale instead of retail price, plus earn free products, plus earn money back, it’s just extreme couponing without all the work and without having to sit at my kitchen table cutting pieces out of my newspapers! Also, you can look forward to a big brown box showing up on your doorstep every month. Bonus for the moms: there’s nothing small that your kids can choke on so the boxes make great toys and when you or your kids get sick of them you just throw them out. Free products and a free “toy” for your kids?? Umm yes please.

If you’re wondering if this is all too good to be true the answer is no, it’s not too good to be true. There’s a reason I’m so passionate about what I do–it’s because Young Living is an extremely generous company with extremely effective and versatile products. I’ve found something that has blessed my family and me immensely and it would be unloving not to share! Tonight, April 13th at 8pm EST, myself and two of my team members are hosting a class on essential oils, how to use them, and what they can do for your family, so if you’re interested head over to my Facebook page at This Redeemed Mama and check out Young Living Essential Oils 101 (link below.)

Young Living Essential Oils 101 Facebook live event

You can always go back to the event later. It’s public and we’ll leave it up, but we would love if you showed up live (plus there will be freebies and giveaways for those who come live!)

Sharing with you guys is my passion and I wouldn’t dream of doing anything else. Now I’m going to go give my baby boy a drop of Peace and Calming to put him back to sleep and I’m going to get prepping for tonight’s class. See y’all there!
